Since everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, we thought we highlight some Irish gastronomic gems:
Kerrygold Colcannon (Potatoes and Cabbage).
Kerrygold butter and cheeses are available at many grocery stores. The milk of grass fed cows makes the best butter and there certainly is lots of green pasture in Ireland. If you are a cheddar lover, give Kerrygold Aged Cheddar a try. You will not be disappointed.
How about cooking school in Ireland? Check out Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork. I had the pleasure of hearing Darina Allen speak at an IACP Annual Conference. She is such an ambassador for Irish cooking and food products. A vacation in County Cork and a cooking class or two at Ballymaloe is definitely on my “to do” list. Need some whiskey for that Irish coffee? Marco received some fantastic Jameson 12 Year Reserve as a gift. I am not a big fan of whiskey, but this Jameson whiskey was smooth and rich.
